- Summary Description: This position will lead our Human Resource Systems department. This position will oversee the Payroll Team, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) Team, and Employee Customer Service Team. This position will be responsible for ensuring the effective functioning, integration, and continuous improvement of HR systems, processes, and services to support the organization's human capital management objectives.

Responsibilities:
- Provides strategic direction, leadership, and guidance to the Payroll Department, HRIS Team, and Employee Customer Service Team. Fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the department.
- Ensures the accuracy, security, and confidentiality of employee data throughout its lifecycle, from collection to storage and usage
- Collaborates with Human Resources, Finance and other relevant departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.
- Stays up to date on payroll regulations, laws, and best practices to ensure compliance.
- Leads the HRIS Team in maintaining and optimizing the HRIS platform, primarily Workday.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to identify system enhancements, upgrades, and integrations to meet evolving business needs.
- Ensures data integrity and security within HR systems, implementing appropriate controls and protocols.
- Directs the Employee Customer Service Team in providing timely and effective support to employees regarding HR systems, policies, and procedures
- Establishes and monitors service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure prompt resolution of employee inquiries and issues.
- Implements continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the employee experience and streamline support processes.
- Develops and executes strategic plans for HR systems and processes aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Leads the implementation of new HR systems, upgrades, and enhancements, managing projects from initiation to completion.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to assess business requirements and recommends technology solutions to optimize HR operations.
- Ensures compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to HR systems, data privacy, and payroll.
- Conducts regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks associated with HR systems and processes.
- Partners with Legal and Compliance teams to address any compliance issues or concerns proactively.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration or related field OR any equivalent combination of education and work experience
Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years progressive HR Systems experience with focus on Payroll, HRIS, and customer service
- Experience with ERP environments, preferably Workday
- Experience in a leadership role managing teams and driving organizational change
- 10 + years’ experience as project or program manager of major programs
Knowledge:
- Demonstrated proficiency with significant hourly workforce involving multi-state retail operations.
- Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated technical expertise in HRIS platforms
- Proficiency in Workday preferred
- Proficiency in Payroll systems and related software
- Strong organizational and team building skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff and set goals and objectives to meet corporate goals
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and interpret processes, policies, and regulatory information
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and deliver in a fast-paced environment
Professional Certification:
- Certifications in HRIS platforms a plus
- SHRM-SCP, PHR, CPP a plus
Working Conditions/Travel Requirements:
- Expected to work the necessary time to satisfactorily fulfill job responsibilities
- Must be able to report to work timely and as required by operational/business needs
- Must be able to work a full-time schedule and work outside of normal business hours when necessary
- Some travel, both locally and long distances, (including air travel), to worksites, meeting sites, and other locations may be necessary
- Must be able to work in the office at least 3 days a week
